"Nothing could be worse than the fear that one had given up too soon and left one unexpended effort that might have saved the world.” Jane Addams
Every 15 seconds a child dies from lack of clean water. Save the Rain teaches water starved communities in East Africa to harvest the rain in order to stop these needless deaths. Our rainwater harvesting systems are built from local materials, by a community elected local work force. They require no electricity, pumping or filtration, thus assuring sustainability. We teach people to harvest the rain through roof water collection, surface water collection and ground water recharge. As well as reforestation, passive irrigation and sustainable agriculture. Thanks to our corporate sponsors, CCG and UCA, 100% of publicly donated money directly funds projects.
$15 provides a child access to clean water for the rest of their life and their future offspring.
Who we are:
Save the Rain is an independent 501 (c) (3) non profit and not affiliated with any other organization. We are simply a group of committed people who decided that the present water conditions in the world are unacceptable – so we came together to change it. We consider Save the Rain one big family oriented entity. The working crew are our hands and feet, the board is our guiding eyes, the receiving folks are our heart and soul and our amazing squad of donors are our wings – giving flight to the mission.
