Shiatsu with Elizabeth

Rating 5.0 (average of 8 opinions)

Shiatsu bodywork utilizes techniques that include acupressure, stretching, rocking, and joint rotation. The goal is to reconnect mind, body, and spirit.

Shiatsu is an Asian bodywork that originates in Japan. Shiatsu is similar to massage, but it is not a traditional massage. The purpose of Shiatsu is to address the emotions we hold and store in our bodies. It taps into the mind and body's natural relaxation responses and balances our energy using the body's pathways called meridians. When we are stressed, our energy become imbalanced and can create a "traffic jam" along the meridians causing us to feel anxious, empty or tired. Shiatsu uses gentle, rhythmic rocking, stretching, joint rotation, palm and thumb pressure to balance this energy and promote healing from within.

Shiatsu is for everyone but is especially beneficial for the health of mothers who provide all their energy to their families. Mothers know that health is not just the absence of disease, health is about aligning the body, mind and spirit. The perfect integration of body, mind and spirit produces a sense of calm, joy and self-confidence. After a Shiatsu treatment, clients talk of feeling “more themselves” or “ironed out”; others may feel very energized while all describe themselves as “relaxed” or “lighter”.
