“The mind when housed within a healthful body, possess a glorious sense of power.” Joseph Pilates

The Mala is founded on the belief that in order for one to be happy and maintain a healthy state of mind, it is indispensable to become physically fit. And for that, our studio offers different kinds of workout programs, where you are bound to find what you are looking for.

Classes offered at The Mala:

Zumba Fitness:

“Ditch the Workout – Join the Party!”
Pretty much the most awesome Cardio workout ever. Zumba is a dance fitness workout.

You get to dance to different latin rhythms as well as international ones! With great beats and great people, you will have a blast while burning a ton of calories! Let the booty shakin begin!

Barre:

This is a barre based workout, which combines Pilates, Ballet and Yoga into one workout. It is an hour long class, that consists of a dynamic warm up, followed by 30 minutes at the barre working in different directions with cardio intervals to keep the heart rate elevated. High energy music will keep you motivated to get in those last few reps! We will wind up the class with Pilates inspired abdominal and back work, followed by a stretch for flexibility. It is not just for the booty; you will hit your entire body and yes, you will sweat!

Pilates:

Pilates is a mind body exercise that challenges your core while sculpting longer and leaner muscles, resulting in a toned dancer-like look. Joseph Pilates first developed the method back in the early to mid 1900s. His idea is that a stronger core or “powerhouse” enhances your posture and alignment, which ultimately results in optimal physical performance. The core muscles are defined as the deep, internal muscles of the abs and back that help to stabilize your torso.

This is a total body, equipment-free workout that sculpts a rock solid core and a lean dancer's body like nothing else can!

Aerial Yoga:

Think Cirque du Soleil! This workout involves performing a series of exercises inspired by Yoga, Pilates, Calisthenics and aerial acrobatics in a hammock-like apparatus, in order to achieve a total-body workout. Get ready to swing!

Vinyasa Yoga:

The Sanskrit word "Vinyāsa" refers to a transition between two different positions. Vinyasa Yoga, in which movement is synchronized to the breath, is sometimes also called flow yoga, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. The breath acts as an anchor to the movement as you flow from one pose to the next in time with an inhale or an exhale. Get ready to sweat!

Ashtanga Yoga:

Ashtanga means eight limbs or branches, one of them being the asanas/Yoga poses. This type of Yoga is challenging, quick-paced, and just the thing to open your tight hamstrings, hips, and shoulders. It involves a set sequence of poses that a practitioner follows in the exact same order every time. It might have the word Yoga in it, but don't let it fool you.

Pole Fitness

Pole Fitness is an extension of pole dancing that uses the pole to its maximum potential as a versatile piece of fitness equipment. It works the whole body, improving muscle tone, flexibility, coordination, posture as well as upper body and core strength.

Gymnastics

Gymnastics is a fun and challenging sport that involves performing moves and exercises requiring physical strength, flexibility, power, agility, co-ordination, grace and balance. You don’t need to have all these skills before becoming a gymnast, they are things you learn as you train – and anyone can have a go!
