Professor Pina Simpson & Professor Carl Moke are Pioneer Grapplers, who lead from the front & were instrumental in helping to establish BJJ in NZ. Both Black Belts are heavily respected in the BJJ/MMA community & continue to be active as officials & referees.
Professor Pina established Māori BJJ Nationals in 2014 & revived Whātōtō (Māori Grappling) as a means to connect back to his Tupuna. He also works for the UFC as an Official.
This Team has produced multiple National, International & World Champions in various disciplines.
Our Association with Tsunami BJJ has created a direct pathway to international exposure for any who show exceptional talent within the whanau.
