My dance training began at the age of three in my Mother's ( a professional dancer and teacher) dance studio in Whitter, Ca. Later I began assisting in the school while continuing my studies in the Cecchetti Method of Classical Ballet and passing rigid examinations for teaching certificates.

Over the past 30 years I have directed my own Dance Schools in Encino, Los Altos, Laguna Niguel and now, Mariposa,CA.

An important part of my work has been with children of pre-school and elementary age, which calls for an understanding of small children and their particular needs. A part of these needs are met in learning to use their bodies properly through practice of basic rhythms (such as walking, running, galloping, skipping, springing, and leaping), from which they move smoothly and easily into the later precise ballet training.

Included in the lesson plan for this age group are simple basic exercises for stretching and strengthening muscles and correct body alignment.

I feel that Cecchetti Method of training is one of the very best not only for the future Ballerina, but for all those desiring to achieve a greater degree of physical fitness and the resulting graceful carriage and confidence.

The Cecchetti Council of America was founded with the idea of promoting better ballet teaching throughout the Nation. In the basic graded program, students may pass through five elementary "grades"
