SUP Yoga is all about balance, endurance and strength-training. You get to train your core and increase stamina without even realising it! You remain mindful of your breathing throughout practice, focussing on your breath helps to anchor your attention and awareness to your practice.

At nearly 90cm's thick the boards are extremely stable platforms, however, the body considers it an unstable surface and engages your proprioceptor muscles, you voluntarily and involuntarily engage muscles that you're not even aware of which are helping to keep you stable on the board. This muscle contraction inherently helps you to develop strength, endurance and balance.

SUP Yoga is physically low impacting, emotionally calming, spirituality uplifting, and energetically charging, classes are safe, relaxing, and fun.

No previous experience of SUP or Yoga is required, only ever try a pose (asana) if you feel comfortable to do so, listening to your inner wisdom, not inner critic.

Indoor sessions are held at La Trelade Health Club, in the heated pool, throughout the year. You can utilise the health suite and enjoy a steam or swim for an extra £5 payable directly to LaTHC.

Outdoor sessions are held during the summer and when wind and tidal conditions allow. Instruction includes basic paddle board skills and techniques such as safely carrying to/from the shoreline, and to help you feel confident in the water manoeuvring; stopping and turning. Once in the water we paddle to our anchor line and clip in so that you're able to fully surrender into practice, where you're guided through the session comprising pranayama, meditation, physical postures, and finishing with relaxation, before gently paddling back to shore.
