Welcome to The Essential Diva. I'm passionate about educating and empowering people with tools to change and improve their health and well being.

I own a yoga studio in the amazing little ski town of Park City, Utah. I've been blessed over the past 11 years of being in business with meeting visitors from all over the world. It isn't too hard to see that we all want to slow down but the fact is that we live in an extremely fast paced world that makes it easy to become frazzled and out of balance with the deepest part of ourselves...our Truth. In my 32 years of teaching yoga i have learned that one of the biggest challenges for students is to maintain the peace and stillness they experience in their yoga class off their mats and in their day to day activities.

In my own busy life I always took lots of short breaks throughout the day to stretch from sitting at the computer for hours or put an essential oil on my neck to help me focus or to do a 3 minute breathing exercise to energize my mind when the afternoon lull would hit.

For years I had always helped my yoga students find quick, easy solutions for their busy lives and I realized that I had created quite a storehouse of suggestions….of little 5 snippets… lots of quick, easy and powerful things that could bring one back to balance in just a few moments. I started writing them down in notebooks, on napkins, on sticky notes and receipts. Things like “roll your yoga mat out on the floor next to your bed so when you get up in the morning you’re reminded to do 5 sun salutations before jumping into the shower” or “Right before you go into that job interview do 1 minute of Ujjayi breathing to balance the nervous system and calm the mind” or “Put a handful of kale, ½ a banana and water in a blender at high and you have an instant, quick and nutritious meal” or “Put a pillow under your hips and lean your legs up against the wall to help you sleep at night” or “Put a drop of peppermint essential oil in a glass of water and drink for an energy boost to your mind and every cell in your body”. The list went on and the napkins and the receipts flowed forth from my life!
