The Charleston Ballet is the official West Virginia State Ballet!
The Charleston Ballet, the official West Virginia State Ballet, was formed in 1956 by Andre Van Damme. In 1989, Kim Pauley was appointed Artistic Director, becoming one of the very few women directors of a regional academy in the United States. The Charleston Ballet currently has 27 company dancers, ages 14-30, producing the ballet's 59th season. This season's performances include: Romeo and Juliet, The Nutcracker, and Swan Lake.
