Emporia Dance

Rating 4.9 (average of 18 opinions)

Emporia Dance provides excellent dance training with classes in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop as well as Art of Movement and Pre-ballet.

Emporia Dance traces its beginnings back to 2004, when Elaine Fenters sought to fill a need in the Emporia/Greensville community by offering dance classes. The studio first was located on Brunswick Avenue, where it remained for two years, until a need for more space led her to find a larger facility. In 2006, the studio found a new home on Baker Street, where it remained for three years. In 2009, S. Main Street became the new location for Emporia Dance. Now in 2014, we are happily relocating to Halifax Street.

Since 2004, Emporia Dance has grown from an enrollment of approximately fifty students to consistently over one hundred, with some years significantly higher. The studio, which began with tap, ballet, jazz, and pointe classes offered, has expanded over the years to include baton, cheering, lyrical, and hip-hop classes as well, taught by a variety of instructors.

Currently, instructors Kaitlynn Holland, Katie Turner, Donna Rogers, and Franci Bradshaw offer a wide variety of excellent dance training with classes in Ballet, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, and Hip Hop as well as Art of Movement and Pre-Ballet. Cheerleading, Baton, and Tumbling classes are also offered. New to our class curriculum this fall is Adult Ballet, Mommy+Me, and Pre-Pointe. A wide range of classes are offered for ages three to adult with separate levels designated by age group and ability.
