Whether a camper chooses horseback riding, visual or performing arts or a combination of all three opportunities, each venue offers state of the art facilities. Founded in 1975, Allegheny Riding Camp was the first Grier Summer program. Allegheny Riding Camp is a premier equestrian camp for girls ages 7 to 17 who love horses! In order to assure a personalized experience for every camper, Allegheny Riding Camp accommodates no more than 40 riding campers per session. We maintain an excellent staff ratio to provide a caring atmosphere for everyone. We have a rich tradition of teaching girls self-confidence through horsemanship Our riding staff teach girls to realize their potential through horsemanship, friendship, and respect for animals.
Also, Grier Summer offers a three-week program in creative and performing arts. Campers choose four different elective activities from a variety of creative and recreational options including theatre, dance, ceramics, writing, and digital photography. Activities are taught by counselors, Grier School teachers or professionals hired for summer activities. Activities are offered only if there is a qualified or experienced instructor.
