My Story

When I originally went to college the first time I studied acting and directing. I worked for 20 years as an actor/singer/dancer, which also came with a slew of part-time jobs to allow me to do the work I loved. In 1995 I attended Midway Paris beauty school In Queens NY to hone my craft and become a hair and makeup artist so that I could move behind the stage and screen but still be in the business. 20 years later of being in the beauty industry I went back to school and graduated with honors from Wade College, receiving a BA in Merchandise Marketing & fashion design.

Ever since my graduation in January 2016, my health and life in general have taken a few hits. By January 2017, through kidney stones, several eye surgeries and broken bones, I had been unable to work for nearly three month. My finances tanked. I resumed working as a Hair and Makeup Artist that had been my main career for 22 years. With my Fashion design degree and got occasional work hand beading and stoning custom evening & pageant gowns for an incredible local designer. I also began ride share driver with Lyft.

With all this I was still scrimping, always in debt, living paycheck to paycheck and never able to do anything else but work. With all this worry about money, I didn't know it but, I was desperately hunting for a change and an actual career that would help solve my endless cycle of need.

All my life, three things have been constant, 1. Service, 2. Public speaking and 3. Beauty. Coming to Mary Kay has put me on the path to utilize these mantras and jump start a business that will get me somewhere and allow me some leisure/fun time.

I have always had a strong work ethic. Being an actor/entertainer has given me confidence to be in front of people without fear. I connect with people very well and a firm believer in the art of LISTENING. My beauty education has given me over 22 years of technical skills in hair, makeup, skincare, sales and a thirst for knowledge of what makes products work the way they do. Fashion Design has given me more creativity and methodical patience to achieve the vision(s) I have in my head and it also taught me things about "business". Mary Kay seems to be the final key and the path I have been heading for all my life. It’s allowing me to utilize everything I have been learning for years and finally make the most out of my skills, training, passions for beauty and my strong work ethic I learned from my family.
