Archetypal Dreamwork with Laura Smith

Archetypal Dreamwork it is a way of working with the material of the subconscious as presented in dreams to achieve a greater connection to our inner soul self.

Archetypal Dreamwork is based on the work of Carl Jung, James Hillman, Joseph Campbell, Fritz Perlman, and furthered in recent decades by Marc Bregman. It is a way of working with the material of the subconscious as presented in dreams to achieve a greater connection to our inner soul self. At a minimum, it can yield significant understandings of our challenges and possibilities and, if we are willing to descend deep enough, it can lead to healing and personal transformation.

Archetypal Dreamwork is not for everyone. It is not about "getting better," though many people indicate radical improvements in their lives. It is about finding who you truly are, as a sensual being who can experience a direct relationship with the Divine love that exists in you.

Dreams can be wild, exciting, confusing, exotic, or even terrifying. In Archetypal Dreamwork, there are no judgments about the dreams. Each dream carries a specific intention that is just for you. It reveals things that you need to know about yourself that are blocking you as well as things that can open you further into the mystery. Your dreams are unique to you. What something means in a dream for you is influenced by your unique experiences in this life, and possibly others, your specific psychological make up, your astrological birth chart, and a myriad of other potential influences. Your dream cannot be categorized as having a finite meaning. In other words, what a symbol or motif in a dream means for you is not what it might mean for someone else. Hence, what we do cannot be characterized as dream interpretation. It is about the feelings that the dreams evoke.

Our work will be to explore these feelings, dream by dream, for they represent the raw material through which Alchemy, or true transformation and healing, can occur.
