Owner Kraig Brown was a Firefighter/EMT/911 Dispatcher for 10 years. Serving others and tending to their health and well-being has always been a top priority in his life. In 2012 Kraig was introduced to essential oils by a friend, and was struck by the idea that he could support the body in its natural functions and boost the immune system without the need or expense of a doctor. There was also an attraction in the realization that oils are relatively inexpensive because they are used in small, diluted amounts and last for a long time in their bottles. Kraig is also a Reiki practitioner. If you aren’t familiar with Reiki it is, ”a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing” (Reiki.org).

Kraig’s favorite oil is Lavender, “because it is a Swiss army knife” of oils. It is both antibacterial and calming. It can be used topically, or diffused to promote relaxation and sleep.

In 2016 Kraig took his passion for natural remedies and essential oils and created SAM’s Apothecary. The apothecary is an extension of his desire to care for and serve people, bringing holistic health and education to Pullman and the surrounding areas. We hope that you find a welcoming, comfortable, educational environment at SAM’s.
