Barca Academy - EduKick USA - FAQ's

1. How old do you have to be to enter the program? - You have to be eligible to attend High School, i.e. at least a freshman (9th grade) – boys ages 14-18

2. Is the program year round? - Barça Academy is a full-time residency academy where players from all around the country and abroad live, study, train and compete for 11 months of the year (August – June).

3. Do players get any time off throughout the year? - Yes, players have a mandatory 2-week Winter break (end of December – beginning of January). There are also Fall (October) and Spring (March) breaks in school, however the soccer schedule determines whether the training continues or not.

4. Is the program open to boys and girls? - Currently, we only have a boys program but we are planning to start a girls academy in the Fall of 2019.

5. What is the cost? The full annual tuition for full-time residency academy is $69,500 and includes the following: accommodations in our dorm rooms, team meals that are nutritionally balanced for an athlete, experienced coaching and training at the number one training facility in the country, strength and conditioning training, professional locker, training gear, education at Arizona State University Prep High School (domestic students) with school issued notebook device, tutoring and academic support, college recruitment assistance, NCAA eligibility counseling, SAT/ACT prep, team travel and team transportation, tournament and tournament registration fees and sales tax. For International players, there is an additional $6,700 I-20 fee that is required for the student to obtain the F-1 student visa.

6. What does this not include? - This does not include any Visa / Immigration expenses, transportation costs incurred in gettng to or from the Academy and any personal expenses required through the year.

7. Is the high school accredited? - Yes, ASU Prep Academy is a fully accredited charter high school and operated by Arizona State University.

8. Does my son need to attend a tryout? - Yes, If from USA, in order to be considered for a potential full-time residency program every player needs to attend a Residential camp or a Talent ID camp. If an International applicant, video and soccer resume may be used.

9. How do I get a student Visa? - Once you have accepted and invited to join Barça Academy and ASU Prep Academy, ASU will issue you an I20 form. At this point you can request an appointment at the U.S. Embassy in your home country and apply for the F-1 student visa.

10. How long does the visa last? - Currently, international students are only allowed to attend a U.S. public high school for a total of 12 months with the issued I-20 form and F-1 student visa. However, we are working on changing this and are hopeful in the near future international students will be allowed to attend for multiple years at ASU Prep Academy.
