Amy has practiced many different styles, including Ashtanga, Iyengar, Bikram (Hot), Forrest, Hatha, Power, Vinyasa Flow, and Yin. She teaches an eclectic and non-dogmatic style that falls under the Vinyasa Krama lineage, but lends itself to variety and accommodation to each yogi. Amy is certified through The Yoga Institute, and has received the National Association of Certified Yoga Teachers’ 200 hr level certification.
Amy’s undergraduate degree is in Religious and Theological Studies, and Kinesiology; two seemingly dissimilar fields that marry through yoga. Her deep appreciation for different spiritual and meditative practices, along with a vast knowledge and hunger of the physiology and anatomy of the body is apparent through her yoga.
As a two-time World Champion in Martial Arts, distance-runner, and avid rock climber, Amy knows and meets the needs of athletes in her class. Many years as a personal trainer and corrective exercise expert, accompanied by specific workshops on injury treatment and prevention bring a physical ease to her class. With attention to alignment, breath, intention and self-care, each yogi leaves rejuvenated and full.
