Originally from Glasgow, he's been involved in showjumping for over 70 years, first competing when he was 13 years of age.
His career developed when he represented the army throughout Europe just after WWII. From there he went on to reach a career high of winning the Foxhunter Championship in 1975 at the Horse of the Year Show on St Corry and he has trained a number of horses that have gone on to compete at the Olympic Games.
